Registration process

Thank you for your interest in Cairn Medical Practice.

When you need to register with a new GP practice, these are the steps that you will need to follow to make sure that your new GP practice has all your medical history and your medical records. If this is your first registration with a GP practice in the UK, medical records from outwith the United Kingdom will not be traced.

Eligibility to use NHS services depends mainly on residence in the UK. You can only register with a GP Practice if you are staying in the area for more than three months. If you are not, you may still be treated, but as a Temporary Resident. For more information please visit NHS Inform.

To be eligible to register with us, you must live within our Practice area or be staying at an address in the area for 3 months or more. If you will be here for less than that, we can still treat you but you will be registered as a temporary Resident.

Before you try and register, check to see if you are in our Practice Area. Just click the magnifying glass 'search' option and enter your postcode.

Before registering, please take a moment to read our Practice Leaflet, which gives details of the Practice, our staff and policies.  Note that we have strict policies for dealing with repeated failure to attend at appointments and for violence, aggression or intimidating behaviour towards staff.
