Flu Vaccination of pre-school 2- to 5-year-olds

Monday 23 August 2021: We understand that parents/guardians of pre-school 2- to 5-year-olds have or will shortly receive the national letter to book their child’s flu vaccination appointment.

Please do not call the practice at this stage as we have not been notified of vaccine delivery dates as yet.

Please be assured that as soon as we have notification of vaccine delivery we will invite you to book an appointment for your child at the Practice. At this stage we understand that this is not likely before mid September.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Child Immunisations

When should my baby be immunised?

It's important that your baby has their immunisations at the right age – the first ones are given at 8 weeks old. They'll be given further doses of these immunisations when they're 12 weeks and 16 weeks old.

Other immunisations are given:

  • between 12 and 13 months of age

  • from 2 years of age

  • from age 3 years 4 months

  • in primary school

  • in their teenage years

To prepare your child for their vaccination you might wish to watch this Bing 'vaccinations' clip with them.

Postnatal checks

You should have your postnatal check 6 to 8 weeks after your baby's birth to make sure you feel well and are recovering properly. This is usually done immediately before or after your baby's 8 week check.

As always, if you have any concerns before or after your scheduled postnatal check you should call the practice for advice and to speak to a member of our team.

HGV, Taxi and other driving medicals

At the moment due to the Covid-19 pandemic, these will only be processed where requested by DVLA and Highland Council. All other patients are to seek medicals privately.
